What are they?
The “Web Standards” are a group of related technologies, established by the World Wide Web Consortium and other standards bodies, with the purpose of providing the best possible end user experience of any web site, regardless of the browser or device being used to access the site.
Why Bother?
Utilizing web standards for your web site can achieve:
- Smaller individual page sizes, leading to reduced server space requirements and decreased bandwidth usage.
- Faster page loading
- Greater separation of content from presentation allowing easier and faster updating of look and feel.
- Improved accessibility to all browsers and devices.
