Not @media 2006

After hearing about last year’s @media conference, I told myself that if the event was held again the following year then I’d definitely have to go. Well it is and, for one reason or another, I’m not.
I don’t know why I torture myself by visiting the @media web site every now and again, maybe its because Denis Radenkovic’s logo (below) and illustrations look good enough to eat, but the growing list of speakers is making me increasingly depressed about not going.
With a line-up including Eric Meyer, Molly E. Holzschlag, Dan Cederholm, Jon Hicks, Tantek Çelik, Dave Shea, Cameron Moll and many others, its like a “Web Standards Who’s Who” or reading the book spines on the shelf beside my desk. In fact, I have to wonder about the insurance costs associated with having so much of the internet’s intellect all in the same venue at once.
Oh well, maybe next year…
