As any website owner will know, its often tempting to check up on how your site is performing with the major search engines. The results can bring dismay when you can’t find your site at all or joy when you discover you’ve moved up a whole three places.
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is often viewed as a “dark art”, filled with many ethical grey areas. We all know that there’s no magic formula for topping the search engine charts (and you should avoid any company that tries to tell you otherwise) but there are certain steps we can take to help the process along.

After hearing about last year’s @media conference, I told myself that if the event was held again the following year then I’d definitely have to go. Well it is and, for one reason or another, I’m not.
Matching Boxes

Moving from table layouts to CSS-based layouts, we occassionally need to recreate the effect of boxes of content that remain the same size, even when they contain different amounts of text.
Using table cells for layout, its very easy to ensure that the two boxes will always exactly the same height as, no matter how much text is placed within each box, the height of the row expands to contain the content.

A fan of Gomez for many years, I jumped at the chance to pre-order their new album “How We Operate” from the US. It arrived yesterday, nearly a full month before its UK release date of 5th June, and has been on heavy rotation on the iPod ever since.
